The Zohar INTRODUCTION Note: There are hidden messages and animations. Explore! Why is this discussion list different from all other Zohar discussion lists? To understand we need to start with another question. What is Zohar?
The Zohar is one of the books of Kabala (Jewish Mysticism). It is a commentary on the . The focus is on the supernatural and esoteric nature of biblical authors and their intentions. The authors of the Zohar reveal the "secret knowledge", which is the basis for the creation of the universe.
Because witchcraft has taken hold of Kabala, it has been blacklisted by most Christian groups and some of the rabbis. They have not blacklisted the Tehilim (Psalms of David) which is also used by witchcraft, so why do so with a commentary on the Torah? Yeshua died for us to give us access to "the kingdom of heaven" which is the same as Kabalah. However it takes many years of study in Kabalah to come even close to what was provided through Yeshua. I strongly suggest that you do now waste your time studying Kabalah. It is man's attempt to know the rules of operation and work in HIS kingdom. This was freely provided for us through Yeshua.
The rabbis teach that one should not study the Zohar without a sound base of Torah understanding. If you have not read the Torah you have no business delving into the mystical teachings. In fact, one can become disoriented and even psychologically unbalanced without the stability provided by the Torah. The Bible is understood on four levels:
Another difficulty is that one cannot skip around without having gotten the basic concepts taught at the beginning of the book. New believers/converts are STRONGLY discouraged from studying Zohar or any part of Kabala. It is too easy to get sidetracked and journey down erroneous trails leading to confusion and possible mental disorders without proper training and orientation. |
